Los Alamitos and The Humdrum Handicap

One of the marvelous things about horse racing is that there need not be the scent of roses in the air, or a Grade I race on the line for a profit to be made, and more importantly, for fun to be had. Such is the case this evening in Cypress, California at Los Alamitos Race Track. Tonight's card is devoid of a true feature attraction, so we proclaim race number five to be the the Humdrum Handicap for three-year-olds and upwards, which have never won three races. This contest, set to be run at four and one half furlongs, shall appeal to the masses that are drawn only by large crowds and prestigious titles. Mike Machowsky ships in Hodge for the Humdrum. This four-year-old son of City Place has been installed as your 6/5 morning line favorite. Familiar local faces that will help determine the outcome of this newly entitled handicap include Paseo de Ramon from the Kelly Castaneda barn, and Goodlookindude for Silverio Martinez. Chuck Treece will also saddle two in hopes of coming away with the inaugural Humdrum Handicap title.

Enjoy the Humdrum tonight from Los Alamitos!

Early Pick Four

1) 2,5,6,7 (Purdy Miss Birdie has logged three strong works and gets Guce in the irons)
2) 1,2,5 (Gavica & Warren's Passion sneak up the rail to clip them at the wire)
3) 4 (Saxman's last two over the Los Alamitos oval have both resulted in victory)
4) 2,3,5 (No Dice Mr has been facing much tougher and the middle draw is a plus)

The Humdrum Handicap

5) 1,4/1,4/All (Hodge & the "Dude" Goodlookindude will engage all the way down the stretch)

Late Pick Four

6) 2,4 (Juan Andrade continues to come up big and scores a mild upset with The Special Snow)
7) 2,3,6 (Track experience proves best as Guce & Jennifer Doll prevail here)
8) All (A wide open affair and Streakin Bona & Bw Prettyquickchick are our top two)
9) 6 (A Real Carteltrigger can finish this group from the gate with hot riding Francisco Rubio aboard)
